– About me

Medicine made of
time and dialogue

Originally from Granada and a resident of Madrid by choice, Dr. Mañas Gallardo trained as a specialist at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid and completed his advanced endoscopy training at the Institut Clínic de Malalties Digestives i Metabòliques of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. More than fifteen years later, he continues to dedicate every consultation to the same principle he started with: listen first, decide later.

As a Specialist in Digestive Diseases, he serves as an attending physician at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, where he is also a residency tutor and teaching collaborator in the training of digestive system specialists.

He is co-responsible for the High-Risk and Colorectal Cancer Prevention Unit and head of the Colon Cancer Prevention Program of the Community of Madrid (Prevecolon) in Area 7. For nearly a decade, he also coordinated the Barrett’s Esophagus Unit and the Functional Disorders Unit at HM Sanchinarro University Hospital.

His clinical practice integrates advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy with a special focus on the prevention of digestive tumors. At ICAdig, he treats general digestive pathology, neurogastroenterology and motility, and digestive cancer prevention.

He holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid regarding the motor behavior of the esophagus in patients with Barrett’s esophagus, and has university degrees in Advanced Endoscopy of the Digestive Tract (Catholic University of Valencia), Clinical Reasoning, and Urgent and Emergency Care in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

– Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

When should I see a digestive specialist?
If you experience symptoms such as frequent heartburn, abdominal pain, heavy digestion, persistent diarrhea or constipation, changes in bowel habits, difficulty swallowing, or blood in the stool, it is advisable to consult a specialist for an accurate evaluation. Do not wait for symptoms to become chronic.
The video consultation has an identical structure to an in-person visit for everything that does not require a physical examination. It is especially useful for follow-ups, reviewing test results, and second opinions. For an initial assessment where a physical examination is necessary, we recommend an in-person consultation.
ICAdig does not work directly with insurance companies, which allows us to dedicate the necessary time to each consultation. If you have a reimbursement policy, we issue detailed invoices valid for recovering the full or partial amount of the consultation fee.
Endoscopic procedures are performed at HM Sanchinarro Hospital, with all the necessary technical and safety guarantees. The initial consultation and assessment take place at our center at C/ Juan Bravo 10.
